Mercury IT is what it is today as a result of our talented team of 50+ staff members. Our team includes knowledgeable IT specialists, System Engineers, Technicians and many more, all working toward one goal – providing the best support for our clients.
Sami Bastow
Administration Manager “At the end of the day if I can look in the mirror and know I’ve done a good job and put a smile on people’s faces, helped as many people as I can, had a laugh, and worked hard, well that was a good day, right?”
Industry experience
Sami is our Administration Manager and has been with us for the last 9 years. Though she wears various hats in her role, she is mainly responsible for our business's finance and administration departments.
Outside of work
When she’s not at work, Sami enjoys spending time with her family, friends and dogs, checking out fast cars, and heading to the beach for the day.

Sally-Ann Bird
Chief Sales Officer “We become our clients trusted IT partners, watching them grow by using tech is very cool.”
Industry experience
Sally-Ann is our Chief Sales Officer and has been with Mercury IT for the last 5 years. She leads a national sales team of business development managers and account managers.
Outside of work
Sally-Ann is a rugby union fanatic and has been involved at club level for the past 22 years. She also has two fantastic adult sons, both as obsessed with footy as much as she.

Alisha Christian
Marketing Manager “Our Marketing department strives to create content that provides education and awareness to both our clients and those seeking assistance in the IT and Cybersecurity space.”

Alisha is the Marketing Manager here at Mercury IT. She has an extensive background in marketing from a range of industries, including IT. She is responsible for overseeing all marketing activities for the business, including social media, sponsorships, events and company branding.
Outside of work
Alisha loves spending time with family, heading to the beach, reading and travelling.

Alisha is the Marketing Manager here at Mercury IT. She has an extensive background in marketing from a range of industries, including IT. She is responsible for overseeing all marketing activities for the business, including social media, sponsorships, events and company branding.

Andrew Corbett
Manager- Special Projects “Success for me is clients being able to do their work and not worry about their IT. It’s about putting the right technology in place to allow them to concentrate on what matters, being great at what they do.”
Industry experience
Andrew is the Manager of Special Projects and has been with us for 10 years. He is responsible for looking after some of our largest clients in the medical space and assisting with the planning and delivery of complex problems and troubleshooting.
Outside of work
Andrew enjoys reading, writing fiction and snowboarding.

Chris Haigh
Chief Information Security Officer “Our cybersecurity department vision is to have an ongoing and mature cybersecurity practice that is continually reducing Mercury IT clients' cyber risk exposure.”

Chris is a Cybersecurity expert and leader with over 20 years’ experience in helping businesses manage their cybersecurity risk across Australia, Europe, USA and South Africa. He has been with Mercury IT for over ten years and as Chief Information Security Officer, Chris is responsible for monitoring all internal and external cybersecurity risks.
Outside of work
Chris enjoys heading to the gym and obstacle course racing in his spare time.

James Heasman
Solutions Architect/vCTO “My role enables me to take clients on a journey that provides a vision of the final outcome, not just a make fit solution.”
Industry experience
As the Solutions Architect, James’ focus is on supplying best-fit solutions for clients and providing vCTO support to get the best out of existing technologies. We were lucky enough to sponsor James when he was on a working visa. Now he is an Australian citizen and has been with us for the last 9 years.
Outside of work
As a self-confessed adrenaline-lover, James spends his time outside of work doing anything that keeps him active.

Martin O’Riordan

As General Manager, Martin is responsible for providing support to all departments within Mercury IT. He comes from an extensive background spanning 20 years in executive management and leadership roles, so he is well equipped to lead our large team.

Paul Walters
Operations Manager “Success to us is helping our clients in a timely manner, so they can get back to doing what they do best.”

Paul is our Operations Manager and has been with us for the past 10 years. He leads the team responsible for our Helpdesk Services, providing excellent customer service, ensuring our clients’ systems are up to date and any IT issues are resolved in a timely manner, as well as setting up new users with our Project Services.
Outside of work
Paul loves going on long motorbike rides, he finds it a great way to clear the mind. It is also the best way to discover new locations and increase economy in regional areas.

Paul is our Operations Manager and has been with us for the past 10 years.
